So what?
Let them have pork, they are not obliged with any regulations or rules that
refrain them from consuming any part of that animal. After all, not all Chinese are Muslims, and I know some Muslims that eat pork.
Many people, especially Malays in Malaysia keep uttering this provocative sentence that of course seem to be terribly offending towards the Chinese. Pork is their food, same as us having chicken, beef, and mutton in our daily meals. But still, why some of us keep on saying "Cina makan babi" in ways that show disrespect, sense of rejection and a signification of making them dirty when they do eat pork? Why is there a need for us to tease them in that kind of way?
Malays, especially those who claim that they are Muslims, let me make this clear to you : your religion doesn't tell you to do so. As far as I know, be they Chinese, Indians, Pan-Asians or whatever, you can't badmouth them for not following what your religion, Islam let alone any religion had put at the first place. The best thing for us, as Malaysians, is to show the spirit of 1Malaysia to them.
But by coming out with statement such as "Cina makan babi", does that relay the message of 1Malaysia, a concept calling for the cabinet, government agencies, civil servants and all citizens of Malaysia to more strongly emphasize ethnic harmony, national unity?
The answer is a big no.
The way you demonstrate your religion is actually against what the religion is really about.
I might not be an expert on your religious matters, Muslims, but at least I have inside what we call common sense regarding with what we call sensitivity among religions. As far as you don't want others to condemn you, same goes to other parties. You don't want to be labeled as the religion of violence, so please, do not act like one.
Cina makan babi.
Yes. The reality is, they do eat pork. I bet no one can refute that. And yes, you, as Muslims don't eat pork. But the main concern is not on how we react on the differences. The real thing is on how we deal with the differences. And that's what makes us close as Malaysians. Don't ruin the multi-racial harmony that our forefathers took so long to build which brought us into independence.
